Bundaberg Cultural Tours

Discover a unique cultural experience and connect with country like never before.

Guided by Elders past, present and emerging, join your Taribelang Bunda tour hosts, Bec and Nigel, as they take you on a journey through time, learning important teachings of aboriginal culture through authentic storytelling and Dreamtime, that has been more than 60,000 years in the making. Explore sites of significance across the region and experience a genuine connection between the land we live on today and the true stories of Taribelang Bunda. Tantalise taste buds with raw flavours from native bush tucker and be in awe of traditional aboriginal artefacts like the Boomerang, while gaining a newfound appreciation for how they are made and the meaning behind this tool for the Taribelang people. This inclusive and cultural awakening experience offers guests the opportunity to engage in open conversation, brought through friendship and warm welcomes encouraged by your tour hosts.

ABOUT US

OUR STORY For more than 60,000 years Taribelang Bunda, Bunda meaning people, have stood on the land and in the water, yesterday, today and tomorrow. Stretching from Woodgate Beach in the south to Baffle Creek in the north and inland where the mighty Burnett River flows through the North Burnett, is Country where Taribelang call home. Caring for the land and waters, the Milbi, Milbi meaning freshwater turtle, is the Taribelang sacred totem bringing about important morals and life teachings of Aboriginal culture. With many of these stories handed down through generations, we hope to share with you a piece of our culture, and our passion for country through these tours.

"A TRULY AWAKENING EXPERIENCE THAT FILLS YOUR MIND AND HEART WITH CULTURAL TEACHINGS.

LEARNING ABOUT THE REGIONS COLOURFUL ABORIGINAL HISTORY THAT ISN'T NECESSARILY TAUGHT IN THE CLASSROOM OR THROUGH A BOOK, WAS INCREDIBLY UNIQUE AND SOMETHING I RECOMMEND ALL TO EXPERIENCE."

LEARN FROM OUR CUSTODIANS

I wanted to let you know that I enjoyed the Taribelang Bunda Cultural Tour on November 6. I enjoyed hearing the stories and the guide was friendly and welcoming. The aspect I most appreciated was the fact that the history was told from multiple perspectives. This is something that has been missing from similar tours I've done in other places. If this tour is offered on a regular basis in the future I will recommend it to family members when they are visiting Bundaberg.
